THE WORLD OF LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY IS MADE OF LIGHT, COLORS AND AN ATTENTIVE EYE FOR DETAIL. THIS WORKSHOP IS DESIGNED FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO DISCOVER AND RECORD THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF PORTUGUESE SCENERY, FROM DRAMATIC COASTLINES TO SILENT VALLEYS.
This in-person workshop, led by Diogo Oliveira, biologist and nature photographer, is a practical and accessible introduction to the fascinating world of landscape photography. Throughout the training, participants will explore carefully selected locations to maximize photographic opportunities, while learning how to control natural light, compose balanced images, and effectively use the camera's manual modes.
Combining theoretical sessions and field practice, the workshop covers topics such as light reading, the use of ND and polarizing filters, and the importance of golden and blue hours. There will also be moments for sharing and analyzing the captured images, with personalized guidance to help each participant improve technically and develop their photographic eye.

In this entry-level landscape photography workshop, we'll explore inspiring natural environments—from coastal cliffs to quiet forests—with the goal of capturing images that convey the beauty and atmosphere of the place. Combining technical knowledge and field practice, this training is designed to offer an engaging and educational experience, allowing participants to develop their photographic eye while connecting deeply with nature.
Throughout the workshop, we will cover essential concepts such as image composition, reading natural light, and ideal camera settings for different times of the day. We'll also explore using tripods, filters, and other basic tools that help you capture sharp, impactful landscape photos. Much of the time will be dedicated to field practice, at strategic times such as sunrise and sunset, taking advantage of the best light and weather conditions for photographing.
This workshop is ideal for those who are starting out in landscape photography and are looking for a solid foundation to develop with confidence.

It’s not just about capturing beautiful images, but understanding all the elements that make a memorable landscape photograph — from reading light and weather to choosing the right frame, composition and timing to take the shot.
During the workshop, you will follow Diogo Oliveira in carefully selected locations, as he shares in real time his technical and creative decisions, explaining the reasons behind each choice — from the ideal lens to the use of ND or polarizing filters. You will learn how to prepare your equipment, how to adapt your camera settings to the lighting conditions and how to make the most of each scenario.

About Diogo Oliveira
My name is Diogo Oliveira, I am a wildlife photographer, biologist, writer, speaker and environmental educator based in Portugal. Graduated in Biology from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia and Master in Conservation Biology from the University of Évora. I spend a lot of my time photographing the most fantastic animals. I have visited several countries and have collaborated with large companies, brands, NGOs and travel agencies. I like playing tennis, building Lego, watching movies and series, and I'm a big fan of Star Wars.
