Speaker
Over years dedicated to wildlife photography, I’ve had the opportunity to live unique adventures, document species in remote habitats, and take part in scientific and conservation projects. In my talks, I share these field experiences — from the silent moments of observation to the technical and ethical challenges that nature photography demands. I explore topics such as developing scientific photography projects, the importance of ethics in documenting biodiversity, and practical techniques for photographing wildlife in a respectful and impactful way. Each presentation is a visual and emotional journey, designed to inspire photographers, naturalists, students, and anyone wishing to connect with nature in an authentic and mindful way.

Travels
Madagascar
Madagascar was one of the most fascinating journeys I’ve ever undertaken. In the humid rainforests of Ranomafana, every step was a discovery. This scientific expedition combined photography and biology in one of the planet’s most unique ecosystems, where lemurs, chameleons, and endemic frogs emerge through mist and dense foliage. Through the lens, I documented both scientific work and extraordinary species, contributing to the conservation and understanding of Madagascar’s remarkable wildlife.

Travels
Brazil
Amid the dense humidity and vibrant sounds of the jungle, the Atlantic Forest reveals itself as a treasure trove of biodiversity. On this photographic journey to Recife, I explored a unique forest where birds echo through the branches and tropical butterflies dance among the leaves. Each camera shot is an invitation to discovery. An intense adventure, guided by respect for nature and a passion for documenting one of the planet’s richest and most threatened ecosystems.

Biology
Starting a wildlife photography project requires curiosity, planning, and commitment. The first step is to choose a theme or species that motivates you — it could be a specific animal, a habitat, or a particular behaviour. Then, it’s essential to study the subject, visit the location regularly, and set clear goals: to document, raise awareness, or simply explore natural beauty. Over time, the images gain coherence and depth, forming a visual narrative that can inspire others to discover and protect wildlife.

Scientific photography is an essential tool for recording, analyzing, and communicating the natural world. It goes beyond aesthetics, aiming to document species, behaviours, and habitats with precision, contributing to research, conservation, and education. In nature photography, technical accuracy is combined with biological knowledge, capturing images that tell real stories and help protect biodiversity.

It is one of the groups of mammals that fascinates me the most. They have the ability to fly like birds, yet they are mammals, like humans. Their flight is facilitated by their advanced sonar system, echolocation, which gave rise to the sonars used in boats. This ability to perceive the world around them using sound allows them to avoid obstacles and also detect insects in flight.

This was my first photographic project. It started with an idea that I began to implement, where I had to improve some composition techniques and light control, and where I had to acquire some extra equipment to achieve the best results. In the end, I ended up building several wooden structures that I carry into the field to photograph the animals in a safer environment.

Past Presentations
Over the past few years, I have developed and delivered several talks on wildlife photography, covering topics ranging from field techniques to the role of imagery in biodiversity conservation. These sessions, previously presented at schools, universities, science centres, and festivals, remain available for new events — and can be adapted to suit the context of each audience.
Among the previously developed topics are: “Photography with a Hidrohide”, “Stories Behind the Images”, and “Photography Using Wildlife Hides”. However, it is also possible to create new, customised talks tailored to the audience's interests, incorporating updated content, recent experiences, and new field images.
If you would like to know more about the content of each presentation or discuss a specific proposal, we would be happy to help you prepare the ideal session for your event.
