PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECTS
Photography was never just a way to escape the crazy city life, I always felt more comfortable in the countryside. But I always tried to bring the countryside to the city, showing everything and everyone the beauty of the natural world. And at the same time try to help conserve the most endangered species, and raise awareness of some of the problems and threats they face. I've been creating some personal projects that I rarely share, so I decided to bring them here. If you would like to see other themes portrayed in this space, send me an email to info@onwild.net. Thanks.

It's one of the groups of mammals that fascinates me the most. They have the ability to fly like birds, but they are mammals like us humans. Their flight is facilitated by their advanced sonar system, echolocation, which gave rise to the sonar used on boats. This ability to see the world around them using sounds allows them to avoid obstacles but also to detect insects in flight.

Each drop of rain that falls makes this forest even more special, but one day the drops will hit the ground directly and stop flowing through the forest. Being able to appreciate the magnitude of this forest in person is a magical feeling. The trees almost touch the edge of the sky, covering every inch of the forest, capturing every ray of light. Animals roam the different levels of the forest, some close to the ground, others in the middle of the forest, and still others at the level of the treetops. All the space is widely used, and the competition for every corner is fierce.
Photographic Project
This was my first photography project. I had an idea and started implementing it, refining some composition and light control techniques, and acquiring some extra equipment to get the best results. In the end, I ended up building several wooden structures that I carry to the field to photograph animals in a safer environment. The idea started because of the insects, which, hidden among the vegetation, ended up losing all their splendor and beauty, and it was difficult to identify the species. I started walking around with a mini studio to photograph them.
Photographic Project
From a young age, I knew I enjoyed studying animals, learning about their behavior, and above all, being able to identify them all. When I finished my Master's degree in Conservation Biology, I participated in a project for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation that culminated in the launch of the Gulbenkian Bird Guide. And right away I thought, what if I launched one for the Institute of Agronomy? And so it was. I got to work, established contacts with Professor Leonor and Professor Sara, and the Tapada da Ajuda Wildlife Guide was born.
