Scientific

This was my first photo project. Where I had an idea and started to implement it, where I had to improve some composition and light control techniques, and where I had to buy some extra equipment to get the best results. In the end, I ended up building several wooden structures that I carry to the field in order to photograph the animals in a safer environment.
·
The idea started because of the insects, which, hidden among the vegetation, ended up losing all their splendor and beauty, and it became difficult to identify the species. I started walking around with a mini studio behind to photograph them.
·
Then I started thinking, why not do the same for vertebrates? And I started going out into the field with friends so I could have more hands to help me photograph the animals safely. So I could just concentrate on the photographs and aligning the flashes.
·
I am currently building new studios to return to the field to photograph some species that have escaped. And continue the project.
Highlights of this project include:
-
Create a bank of images of animals on a white background taken in Portugal
-
Use photographs of animals for presentations held in schools and for families
-
Obtain images of rare and endangered species to preserve a record of them
-
Seek to increase knowledge about some species

Who supports me in this project:
-
Ana Rita Gonçalves: for their help in identifying the many invertebrates present here, and that without their help it would not have been possible to identify them as there is a gap in relation to guides and websites dedicated to this group.
-
Emídio Machado: for help in identifying the group of arachnids.
-
This project is sponsored by FOTOCAMO, online store of accessories and solutions for nature photography. Which helps me make sure I have all the accessories I need to get my wildlife shots.
