VIAGENS: MADAGÁSCAR
Madagáscar foi uma das experiências mais intensas e transformadoras do meu percurso. As florestas húmidas de Ranomafana e Mantadia são ecossistemas únicos, onde a biodiversidade se revela de forma quase esmagadora, mas sempre frágil.
Fotografar nestas florestas exigiu uma adaptação constante, tal como conto no meu blog, tive de fazer trilhos difíceis, lidei com a humidade elevada, mas o que mais dificultou foi a luz escassa e os animais selvagens preferirem ficar na copa das árvores, por vezes, a 20 ou 40 metros. Cada fotografia foi conquistada com muita paciência, e outras tantas ficaram por fazer infelizmente.
Este trabalho foi desenvolvido durante o acompanhamento de uma equipa científica que foi capturar morcegos de Madagáscar, tive oportunidade de ficar hospedado no centro ValBio, destinado a investigadores. E ainda acompanhei a equipa no terreno.
TRAVELS: MADAGASCAR
Madagascar was one of the most intense and transformative experiences of my career. The rainforests of Ranomafana and Mantadia are unique ecosystems, where biodiversity is revealed in an almost overwhelming, yet always fragile way.
Photographing in these forests required constant adaptation, as I recount on my blog. I had to hike difficult trails, deal with high humidity, but what made it most difficult was the scarce light and the wild animals preferring to stay in the treetops, sometimes 20 or 40 meters away. Each photograph was achieved with great patience, and many others unfortunately remained untaken.
This work was developed while accompanying a scientific team that went to capture bats in Madagascar. I had the opportunity to stay at the ValBio center, intended for researchers. And I also accompanied the team in the field.
